The end is near, the fat lady is singing, chances are good this is my last post. I see little reason to continue to post on Tumblr for my two followers, I have a lot more on Google+ so I will post there once in a while . This week I’ll wrap things up at WSU and go back to PCC in the summer.

Is the internet a panopticon

I think that the internet is a  panopticon especially with Google, always looking at what a person is doing, but I don’t think there are  many people who don’t know they are being tracked. Even so it’s not like a real person is there following you around, it is a software program gathering your info and then it will try to market to that info.

I know their are things you can post that my make people look closer at you but not often.

Looking For Work

Now that schools almost over I will be in need of some summer work. If anyone knows someone who needs a Carpenter with 25 years experience, have them e-mail me.  I do almost everything but really like re-using old wood and materials for building furniture and cabinets  ( I make a real nice kitchen island) I have tons of tools and a truck. Shoot me an e-mail Michael.sullivan63@gmail.com

Happy birthday, Herbie Hancock!
The keyboardist played in Miles Davis’ “second great quintet,” wrote classics spanning the music spectrum — from the game-changing post-bop of “Watermelon Man” to, yes, “Rockit” — and generally has one of the coolest, funkiest synth collections around.
Hear Herbie Hancock in a synth-heavy set from the 2008 Newport Jazz Festival.
Hancock also sat in with Marian McPartland for an episode of Piano Jazz in 1987.

Aauuugh!!

I have way been writing papers all weekend and studying for a math exam. I also went to PCC to see about taking online classes over the summer because WSU doesn’t offer much financial aid for summer. I found out I just need six classes there to get my associates degree. This would save me a full term of school. Again I had bad advise from advisers both at WSU and PCC. Maybe I should start an online advice site for college students, I think it would work.

Pizza Recipe

It’s almost impossible to find a decent pizza anymore, soggy crust, little to no toppings and cold by the time you get it. I use mostly items from Trader Joes and it comes out great, even though it’s not much cheaper (about 14 bucks) here’s the deal.

Shopping list:

One whole wheat Trader Joe’s Pizza crust

1/3 jar Trader Joe’s pizza sauce

1  8 oz package low-moisture mozzarella cheese

4 oz feta cheese

1 8 oz package of mini portabella mushrooms sliced

1 small red onion sliced

1/2 green or red bell pepper sliced

Meat if you want it (I like the Columbus salami)

Black olives (optional)

Preheat oven with pizza stone  425 deg

In large skillet, saute onion, mushrooms, peppers until semi soft ( about ten minutes) they’ll have a better flavor and texture than throwing them on raw like dominoes.

On parchment paper roll out pizza crust between two sheet of parchment paper dusted with corn meal or flour, this makes it easy to get on hot stone.

Spread sauce on crust 1/8 inch thick, coat evenly.

dump on most the mozzarella cheese.

Spread on  Vegetables. meat, olives , then lastly feta and remainder of mozzarella cheese ( don’t need much here)

Trim parchment paper around crust slide on to pizza stone and return to oven for 15-20 minutes.  slide out parchment paper after 10 minutes to insure a crisp crust.

Remove from oven let cool a few minutes and then enjoy.

Sunshine

Surprise, woke this morning to find plenty of sun, this happens whenever I have to stay inside and work on papers. I have two books to read this week, two term papers due soon, an article to write and a math test next week. I can’t wait for summer.

Field Trip

Another field trip to Portland today. This trip was pretty wet, sun came out as I left. We walked around PSU campus and the farmers market. I am pretty sure I’ll be going back to PCC in the fall and dual enroll at PSU.  WSU just doesn’t offer a degree that I am interested in and the course selection is to small to fit in with a work schedule. That is OK, I enjoy Portland much more than hanging in Vancouver.
